For over one hundred years the enthusiasm for the Spreewald town of Burg has continued among tourists. It is located in the eastern part of the Upper Preewald in the middle of one of the most fascinating lowland landscapes in Europe, which was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1991. Those who visit Burg will find wonderful orchards, old oaks, alders, lowland forests - traversed by hundreds of Spree veins. Some scenic and architectural beauties can only be discovered with the traditional Spreewald boat or the canoe.
