Spreewald
Welcome to the Spreewald
Not far from the A13 motorway between Berlin and Dresden, the visitor will stumble upon one of nature’s gems – the Spreewald biosphere reserve. Constructed in 1992, our hotel is directly at the gate to the Spreewald and not far from the charming little town of Lübben. The magic of a unique European landscape with innumerable branches of the Spree in untouched nature invites you to dwell a while.
The Spreewald (low Sorbian: Blóta, marsh), is an extensive lowland area and a historical land developed and cultivated by men in the southeast of the federal state Brandenburg. Main feature is the natural course of a river branching of the Spree which was enlarged considerably by channels by laying out.
As a meadows and moorland it has a intra - regional meaning for the conservation and it is protected as a biosphere reserve. The land was developed and cultivated by the people of the Spreewald and characterized by the sorbs. Furthermore the Spreewald is one of the best known and most popular destinations in Brandenburg.
